Analytical model of a fractional slot double‐layer‐winding vernier permanent magnet machine

This study presents an analytical model (ANA) for predicting magnetic field and performances of a fractional slot (FS) double-layer-winding (DLW) vernier permanent magnet (VPM) machine. Magnetic vector potential equations FS DLW VPM machine are analytically solved by the technique variable separation in three subdomains, that is, regions magnets (PM), air-gap, slots 2-D polar coordinate system. Field distributions performances, such as flux linkage, electromotive force (EMF), torque inductance developed. Results from ANA 18-slot/2-stator-pole-pair prototype have been compared with those finite element analysis (FEA), which indicates has huge advantage computing speed addition to good accuracy. In end, is built its EMF tested experiment platforms results verify ANA. The necessity importance research method provides close solution calculation time much less than FEA on base precision.
